It’s estimated that 1 in 5 people in the UK are neurodivergent and recent research from AFEM and the Musicians Census suggests that there is a higher percentage of neurodiverse people working in the music industry.
In a 2020 study, UK Music found that of 3,670 respondents, 11 percent identified as neurodiverse. Each of these respondents likely has an experience with neurodiversity entirely unique to them.
These findings underscore the importance of recognizing and valuing neurodiversity within our academy. We are committed to creating an environment where neurodiverse individuals can excel, by providing tailored support and flexible learning approaches. By embracing the unique perspectives and talents of neurodiverse musicians, we aim to foster a more inclusive and innovative music industry. At our academy, we celebrate neurodiversity and are dedicated to empowering all students to reach their full potential, ensuring that every voice is heard and appreciated.
