#RESTCLUB

#RestClub with Music Minds Matter and Black Lives in Music and We Are The Unheard

Thursday 17th April - Online

Introducing #RestClub, brought to you by Music Minds Matter

Working in the music industry is often exhilarating and rewarding, but the intense highs, late nights, frequent travel, and job insecurity can wear us down over time.

For Stress Awareness Month, Music Minds Matter is inviting you to join our online #RestClub brought to you in partnership with our allies, Black Lives in Music and We Are The Unheard

Join us for an online session where we will take time to breathe, rest and explore how we can make more time for the different types of rest we need to recharge and experience good quality rest.

*Spaces for this event are extremely limited, so please only register for this event if you know you can attend. If you find after booking that you can no longer make the session, please cancel your booking so your place can be given to someone else.

You can read more about #RestClub and why rest is important here.

About MUSIC MINDS MATTER

Working in music is incredible. Our unforgettable musical experiences are delivered by passionate and talented individuals. But a life in music comes with unique pressures that can affect mental health.

Music Minds Matter is here to support everyone who works in music whether you are on the stage, behind the scenes, on the road, in an office or in the studio.

We aim to transform mental health in music to create a healthier music sector and support all the people who keep the music we love playing.

We’re helping everyone working in music to:

  • Get the right service for their mental health as quickly as possible

  • Get emotional support in the moment

  • Access tools and knowledge to stay well

  • Connect with others to build resilience and wellness

  • Learn new ways to help others more effectively

In doing so we aim to transform mental health in music to create a healthier music community and support everyone who keeps the music playing.

About Black lives in music

Talent is distributed evenly, opportunities are not! Black Lives in Music addresses the current inequality of opportunity for Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse people aspiring to be artists or professionals in the Jazz and Classical music industry. Black Lives in Music believes in real equality for Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse people to learn musical instruments at grassroots level and to allow them to pursue and realise their musical ambitions.

Black Lives in Music is made up of a number of partners who are all working towards the same goal: to dismantle structural racism in our industry. We aim to support the industry in providing better professional opportunities. We also want to achieve equality for Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse professionals at all levels and in all areas of the UK Jazz and Classical industry. Representation matters, we need to take action together and create a level playing field for everyone to have an equal chance to succeed.

Black Lives in Music stands for equal opportunities – for Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse people to be able to work successfully in the UK music industry without being the subject of discrimination.
